4th of July Weekend

We started the festivities on July 3rd. Estrella had their own fireworks that night, so I invited Tiffanie and her friend Megan to come up and have dinner with the family and watch the fireworks. We made steaks, baked potatoes, and me and Breezy made fried Zucchini (which were exceptionally yummy!) We all went over to mom and dad's house (mom and dad were out of town) and ate. It was me and Seth and our boys, Stormy, Noah, Breezy and David and their 2 kids and Tiffanie and Megan. So much fun. Once we ate we headed to a soccer field close to our house, and watch the firework show. The boys were entertained for most of the show, even Kade liked it!
We headed back to the house for a game of Apples to Apples. Breezy has been talking about how this is her new favorite game for weeks now, and it was fun to finally play it. It was lots of fun, and we were all up pretty late. Kade finally crashed on the floor in the middle of the living room.. I wish I would have remembered my camera!
On the 4th of July we just hung out at Mom and Dad's house and waited for them to get home. For weeks now I have been wanting to make homemade pizza, so we went out and bought all the stuff for them, and had mom and dad pick up pizza dough at Trader Joe's on their way into town. These pizzas came out sooooo GOOD! They tasted way better than any pizza joint I had been to! The boys took charge of dressing the pizzas with toppings and they did an excellent job!
Last night we went to Breezy and David's for some sparklers and dinner. David had mowed the grass and had a wooden platform in the center of his grass for some fireworks that he was given. (I know, you are thinking, aren't these illegal?) They were all ground fireworks, so we figured no harm. Well, we learned that all the kids were definitely a bit too little for sparklers. David started lighting the other fireworks, like a couple fountains, and those really fast spinning ones, then he lit this one and it just started shoot fireworks 60 feet into the air! It was so loud and me and Breezy panicked and headed into the house. All the babies were crying.. and of course all the grown boys are laughing. We were so scared the cops were going to come, so we hurried inside and acted like nothing happened, while David disposed of the evidence. Now that its done and over with, we laugh.... because it was pretty funny.
We had a great 4th of July weekend and I hope everyone else had a happy and safe one too!

So, on the 4th of July, after the fireworks, did you have any strangers knocking on your door asking to speak to a girl that doesn't even live in the house? That's been known to happen to some people I hear... ;)
